Restarted racing as a way to get my 67 year old butt out of the recliner. As much as I enjoy the racing it's the people that are involved in the sport that motivate me to come out to the track All that energy and emotions. It's great to see all of the kids actually doing something without electronic stimulation/
Heading into my second season with a couple of state plates to show for my first year riding and goals to improve those finishes for this year and tackle the Gold Cup circuit as well.
I'm in my early 40's and just started racing this year (2021). I haven't ridden a BMX since my teenage years once I started driving. I started back riding bikes by getting into mountain biking about 6 years ago. I picked up an old Mosh bmx of Craigslist last fall and rode my local track a couple times before they shut down for winter. When they opened back up this past spring and went to my first gate practice. Never done that before. At that moment I decided I really enjoyed riding BMX. Soon after the 1st gate practice I purchased a 2021 Chase Edge and do another gate practice. That really solidified it for me. I had my first race and really got hooked. Its so much fun. I have got to meet so many new people and make new friends. This is a way for to stay in shape, which gets harder with age in finding out, and stay active. I see myself riding and racing BMX for as long as my body will allow me...and hopefully longer somehow...lol.
