Bikes have always been a life for me. I can't remember a time in my life without bicycles. I started BMX racing back in the 1970's. In 1982 I transitioned to Road bikes and road racing a few years later. In 1988 when I saw my first Mountain bike I saw a BMX bike with gears. So I was hooked. I have ridden and raced mountain bikes all over the country. After many years of riding mountain bikes I took the gears off and started riding and racing Single Speed mountain bikes. That brought back memories of BMX racing...One gear. Want to go faster? Pedal faster. No shifting gears. At races trying to find the right gear ratio for the track (Course). I became the Texas SingleSpeed State champion last year. Racing at courses all over Texas against guys of all ages on SS bikes. It was so much like BMX racing...except, instead of 40 seconds per race it was more like an hour and a half to two hours of racing. Many time over the past 30 years I wanted to get another BMX bike and get back on the gate. I finally pulled the trigger October 1st, 2015. I got a Redline Flight Pro 24 and a USABMX membership. Four days later Pearland BMX was my first gate start in 33 years. I'm back. I'm hooked. I'm happy.
