With 2015 quickly coming to a close we want to take a moment to thank everyone who makes Richmond BMX a place we all love. Our organization consists of so many dedicated people who make their free time available to ensure we have such a great place to call home.

Gary and Andrea Craig. Its weird to write in the third person, so I won’t. It does not matter. Andrea is just simply the best. I don’t know if people pay attention but she NEVER has a repost that is due to error. This is not an exaggeration, and this includes our SCQ and large double point races, we do not have reposts! Oh yeah and she scores, hands out trophies, races, Moms, and just flat out rules!

Art and Wendy Luck. Art is my second hand, arm, leg, brain… and Richmond BMX is not here without him and is better every day he is “Luck”. We love this dude. Wendy, more than she may want to admit, is essential and more importantly keep Luck and I in line.

Mike and Patrice Lane. First thing, this is way more than these two as there is an entire family of support behind these two but nothing happens without Mike and Patrice. To show Trice our thanks, we got her some new digs coming for 2016. And Mike, our master carpenter, does WAY more than cut some wood, like a bigillion more things!

Vincent Jorrand. Catch a gate at Richmond BMX in the past few years Vegas odds are Vincent was the man on the stand. And if he is not there Dan Redmond was racking ‘em up!

Eli Christman took a billion pictures and made them all available for free! Seriously these are amazing! And don't forget your 3D glasses!

Tim Brown has some sort of super power since it seems like every time we are hoping someone shows up who can lend that critical second set of hands, he shows up. Its uncanny! Oh, and he is cooking up something new a fresh for Richmond BMX in 2016!

Marshall Higgins, if you didn’t know, is also called Marshmallow in some circles because he once ate 100 marshmallows in one sitting. He also hosted a ton of skills clinics over the summer turning rad riders into moto-smoking gnarly BMXers!

Jason Hartley was here for a work visit in late winter and early spring. He liked it so much he came back in the summer for even longer. Between slaying the locals, he put in a ton of time helping us with track prep and we just can’t thank him enough!

There is a ton more people to call out and thank including Pep Freeman, Bill Light, Gilberto Deleon, Chris Royster, Craig Anderson, Joe Hall, Chad Ricks, Brad Anderson, Chris Bergin, Kitt West, Brian Garrett, Archie Dann, Thomas Falls, Billy Rozzell, our Fulton neighbors Cory, Isiah and Xavier, and EVERYONE that I for some terrible reason did not list. Every one of these people make Richmond BMX possible. You all are the reason for our success and we cant wait for 2016 to see what amazing things we accomplish together!

2015 was a crazy year for sure. With 28 races completed, countless Clinics and Gate Practice sessions, we had action at the track no less than 100 days in an 8 month season. And that does not include all the Fridays and Saturdays we were there shoveling snow, tarping, shoveling, raking, rolling, cutting grass and all the other fun things that go on in Gillies Creek Park.

For a quick look back, and there is a lot to look back on, here is a list of 2015 highlights. How many were you a part of?

  • 2015 Awards Banquet, first one in a few years. So much fun we are doing it again!
  • A new first straight design and the return of the roller on the second straight.
  • A new. properly oriented, starter stand and popular observation deck overlooking the new gate (Thanks Popeye!).

Ooooh, and an old skool bike show!
  • The world came to Richmond to watch a bicycle race and it was amazing!
  • We met this totally awesome mate Jason “Jayson” Hartley from Australia who came to the RVA for a few months and made life-long friendships.
  • VMP held what some considered the most epic SCQ in Virginia history.
  • We held the first annual Fulton’s Fastest. Totally doing that EVERY year!
  • We were awarded a Gold Cup Qualifier for 2016!

It’s a crazy long list and 2016 is going to be that much crazier!
