2021 Schedule Snapshot - 'Local' Single Point Schedule Plan
2021 - Let's find YOUR RACE at THE Track!!
As we go into 2021, we continue to work closely with the Virginia Motorsports Park leadership to make THE Track your Destination for GREAT EVENTS!
For the start, we will continue the plan from the past few years and welcome ALL RACERS to come out to Practice and Race at VMP BMX nearly EVERY Sunday Afternoon in January and February 2021!!
During Standard Time (Jan-Feb, Nov-Dev), we are holding the ONLY RACES in the AREA on Sundays in a casual early afternoon time slot. These months can bring a variety of weather, so you can get in ALL TYPES of racing to keep your legs warmed up and your skills strong. Keep a LOOKOUT for schedule adjustments to be certain you are in the loop when we need to adjust!
In addition, we are seeking to ADD Cool Weather RACES to the schedule on select Saturdays. YOU CAN HELP show us these are a good change when you BE THERE for these new race events!
For the March to October timeframe, we begin shifting to revisit a VMP BMX Classic Saturday Schchedule this time moving it to the Morning time slot (pending USA BMX confirmation). These races give the region a refreshed option for weekend racing that we haven't seen since the 2009-2014 seasons while adding a new twist .... an early start that provides families the option to stay late for special activities, drive out to nearby races in the region, or spend the rest of the afternoon with family and friends outside the racing scene.
And to motivate our already productive crew and property management, we have NIGHT RACING planned for 2021!!
We'll start with FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS on available Fridays starting in June! We'll run these through September, taking breaks when the Park is Hosting events that need tht time slot in the Mud Park.
And to continue a plan we launched in 2020 we'll move WEEKDAY RACING to Tuesday Evenings and light up THE Track to accommodate a later start time for more families to get in on the Racing Action! 2021 brings a DIRTY DOZEN series marking the 12th Year of VMP BMX that will run from Mid-June through August.
To top it off, we will once again host regular Gate Practice and Clinic Time on Mondays, this year extending that activite to start in May and run through September.

Local Single Point Race Fees: $10 per entry
Loaner Bike Fees: $5 per event (day), first-come, first choice, includes helmet
Local Single Point Race Format: 2-Moto Transfer*, 3-rider classes run Total Points
Local Single Point Awards:
- Rotating Awards - Trophy, Custom Medallion, other awards to TOP 3 Racers in EACH CLASS
- Optional SAVER STAMP Awards - 1st gets 5, 2nd gets 3, 3rd gets 2
- 2-class racers awarded ONE Award per day - Best Award or Racer choice
- And, of course - SINGLE District Points along with State Championship Series and Gold Cup Series Bonus Point Race Credit
Local Single Point Certificate Race Days (when scheduled): $5 per entry, 2nd Class $3, Opens4Fun $3, Strider $3
- Certificate Day SPEED PASS $10 - 20" + Cruiser + Open4Fun Entry!
Weekday Practice: Open Practice $5, Clinic $10 (1 hr - 2 guided 25-min activities w/10 min break) - $2 VMP BUCKS per paid practice
Race Day Practice: $5 per rider to enter track - earn $2 VMP BUCKS or $5 credit can be applied to SAME DAY Race Fees
Parent Volunteer Bonus: $2 VMP BUCKS per Race or Practice - also available for other Track Support Activities
First-Time Racers: FREE RACE and 1-day Membership**, Participation Award (Regardless of Finish Position, Head Official Select)
*Please note that the 1-day Free Membership is considered a single opportunity for the person by USA BMX Policy and is not expected to be used more than once either at another track or at the same track - See the Section on Community Races for Free Membership Opportunities that can be used multiple times
